To Buy or Not to Buy—SOCIAL MEDIA FOLLOWERS…

When businesses hire me to help grow their followers on Instagram or Facebook they are doing this because they understand the value of having the eyeballs of quality potential clients or customers view their posts. They correctly understand that it's not the quantity but the quality of their followers that will ultimately translate to dollar signs and make their investment worthwhile. However, having a large number of followers is never a bad thing, which is why websites like Socialfollow® can be so important for people looking for a larger following. Once in a while a client asks me if it's worth it to buy followers. The ones who ask me that question generally fall into the following three categories: 1) They are...

Purim Themes

Purim is my favorite holiday for so many reasons. Everyone is happy (thanks to the abundance of wine) and we get to dress up and get creative. For me coming up with my yearly theme and putting together shaloch manot to go with it is one of the highlights where I get to use my graphic design skills on myself for a change. Candyland 2015  This postcard was mailed to everyone inviting them to come and get candy and hotdogs! BREAKFAST THEME FOR SHUL 2015 FROZEN THEME 2014 With 2014 debut of the incredible Movie Frozen and my kids obsession with it it was only natural we use that as our theme. Below are a few pix of the snowflake cupcakes, the “melted snow” water bottle and...

A Graphic Mistake….

I learned a valuable lesson today, one that I always knew. One that I constantly advise my clients on a regular basis. PROOFREAD and then PROOFREAD again. And when you are done…show it to someone else and have them proofread. Do not trust your writer, your designer or even yourself. Let at least 3 separate eyes view your material because we are only human and mistakes do happen. Even mistakes that spellcheck will not catch, like a word spelled right but misused. Now I consider myself a decent writer and though there are a few words I tend to misspell regularly, I am an above average speller. I think my grammar is decent. And I generally am very meticulous and look things over several times...

Puppy Diaries…The first week

So I hear there are some who are making wagers whether our new Puppy Peanut will make it past the first few weeks in the Weinstein home. Already there is a waiting list of eager families interested in taking her off our hands if we change our mind. I don't blame the doubters since only two years ago we brought home another Puppy, whom we named Dexter after the TV show character (yeah I know, pretty weird to name a dog after a murderer) and within one week we gave him to another family who love him to pieces. (Video of getting our last dog) So why may you wonder are we attempting this again? Well last Thursday, the first day of Chol...

Best FB campaign

I always say this to my clients… when it comes to facebook/Instagram giveaways people love interaction. So when Jus by Julie came out with a new flavor naturally we set out to launch a name contest. And boy was it a hit! We got hundreds of incredible suggestions and we certainly went up in fans. After we got all those names, the contest didn’t end there…we went ahead and created a new contest, asking people to vote for their favorite name. And once again it was a huge hit. We went up may more fans and made our existing fans feel good about helping us out. Social media is all about interaction.Once you recognize that you will have no choice but to...

To Blog or not to Blog…..

by Stephanie Frasco Guess what? If you aren't blogging on a regular basis, you are missing out on a huge opportunity. In the changing business environment that we live in, missing out on something could mean the difference in earning more money, attracting new clients, getting more speaking gigs, or even that promotion you've been hoping to get. For many "soloprenuers" and small business owners, the life and death of your online reputation can rely on this very simple fact: You must be blogging, and you can do so using web hosting providers like https://www.hostiserver.com/. Yes, it is true, blogging via the internet is the way forward. That being said, if you want your blog to be accessible at all times so that...

Client Spotlight: Kosher Private Chef

Sharon Beck entered my office three months ago with apprehension. She self admittedly didn’t know much about social media marketing. Her only experience was the occasional post on her personal facebook page. She never used Instagram, Pinterest or Twitter and frankly the idea of it made her nervous. What she did have was a great domain name (kosherprivatechef.com) and a great idea-to offer high end kosher private chef services nationwide. Sharon had an amazing idea, she just needed help getting it out there. According to Sharon, her business is primarily a word of mouth business. A satisfied customer tells her friend and that friend contacts Sharon. After many years of growing through referrals, Sharon was ready to grow nationwide. With all...

A Hollywood Affair

THE THEME Now that I just finished making my oldest daughter’s Bat Mitzvah I would love to share some details of the behind the scenes of what went into designing the event, from concept to completion. My daughter Eliana is very into acting so naturally it felt right to go with the hollywood theme. I feel it’s very important when choosing a Bar/Bat Mitzvah theme to go with something that excites the kid. THE LOGO For me, everything starts with a logo. The logo, whether for business or for an event, sets the tone and even color scheme. Because Eliana starts with an E, the E! Hollywood logo felt like a perfect match for me. I also loved the idea of bringing the word...

A picture speaks louder than words

by boomsocial.net It's a fact: pictures speak to us in ways that words never will, right? For instance, here is what the Social Media Manager for flash sale travel site Jetsetter had to say about Pinterest: "We were looking for a fun way to involve our community to help us curate the world's best travel experiences. Pinterest gave us a forum to engage with our most passionate advocates in a meaningful, creative, and compelling way." Images tell stories; they capture our imagination, and entice us to engage in ways that words often don't. 3 Ways to Use Pinterest and Instragram to Build Relationships If you agree with me in theory, but are stumped as to exactly how and where to start with building relationships on...
